The Scottish Business Pledge is currently undergoing a review and not accepting new members at this time
Our commitment to the Scottish Business Pledge was driven by our business’s principles of equality, fairness and opportunity.
We believe these principles will not only result in improved productivity and employee engagement, but will also lead to further sustainable growth for Rabbie’s Trail Burners.
In 2015, we were awarded the Queens Award for International Trade for outstanding overseas sales growth. Passenger numbers on our scheduled tours in 2015 reached over 78,000, an increase of 75% from 2011. 90% of our clients are international and we have established over 1,300 partnerships with national, local and overseas agents.
We book the majority of our customer’s tour accommodation. This allows us to disperse the business throughout communities. For example, in 2015 we booked over 55,000 beds equating to over £4 million of business (B&B and evening meals) spread throughout villages, towns and small communities.
From the beginning, Rabbie’s was built by valuing, managing and conserving our environment. Our team are passionate about leaving the legacy of our beautiful landscape and communities for future generations to enjoy. We make every effort to reduce our carbon footprint, and since 2008 we have implemented a self-imposed carbon tax, donating £10 per tonne of carbon we use to environmental projects and organisations which promote community, health and wellbeing. Since 2008 we have donated £52,867 cash and £21,891 in kind to environmental and social projects, such Edinburgh’s SOUP, The Skye Football Team and The National Trust.
I would like to give a big thank you to one of your tour guides I saw last week at the Commando Monument at Spean Bridge. While his tour was taking photos he was busy picking up rubbish around this lovely place. As a Commandoes daughter I know my father and his friends would love to shake his hand and say thank you. His efforts may seem small to him but, believe me, it is appreciated beyond measure by the Commando families.
Our future plans include visiting new locations as well as looking at new touring products. In 2016 Rabbie’s have ambitious growth targets and have an exciting launch of Rabbie’s city tours in Edinburgh in our new convertible minicoaches with glass roofs. We have also recently partnered with Scotrail, where we operate rail/mini-coach tours in the Borders and hope to expand this model to other areas. At our headquarters at Waterloo Place we also run a Rabbie’s café and meeting room available for private hire.
